Band Web Hosting Discounts
Low-cost web hosting review

Web hosting is getting cheaper and cheaper. It's almost ridiculous these days for bands to not spend the extra money to get their own domain and website. I've found a number of great low-cost and discount web hosts through Houston Web Hosting Discount & Low-Cost Reviews. All have served me extremely well.

Lunarpages
This is still one of my favorite band web hosting websites. It's just $7.95 per month. Great service with 500MB of web space. Lots o'great spam filters and extremely easy to use.

Globat
2000 MB Hosting & 60 GB Transfer for $7.50/mo. including webmail, 2000 POP email accounts, FrontPage, MySQL, FLASH and more. Sounds pretty intriguing, huh? That's what I thought. So low and behold I decide to give it a try. The utlimate problem I found with Globat was its server. I had a lot of trouble managing my CGI scripts. If you don't use CGI, it may work better for you, but those scripts were just too important, so I moved my site to Lunarpages.

iPowerWeb
A while back I was looking for a web host for my CelticMP3s.com website. I needed a lot of server space since I was thinking of hosting MP3s. iPowerWeb came through for me. 800MB of server space, free setup, 40GB transfer and only $7.95. The control panel is a bit dated (still using cPanel 5), but they've been great to work with and of course, lots of space to grow! After having used this server for a few months now, I'm a bit disappointed in the speed. It's regularly sluggish. Not too happy about it dispite the server space.

Directnic
Directnic is not a typicaly web hosting service. They actually focus on domain registration, but once you buy a domain from them, you can host your website with them for free with banner ads or for just $15 per year. The servers are very slow which make them a poor web host, but at least you can get a domain name for just $15 per year.

HostBaby
I can't help, but mention HostBaby. I don't use their service since it's $20 per month. But HostBaby is provided by CDBaby, and CDBaby has a reputation of being a great service for musicians.

But if you're willing to pay $20 per month, I'd suggest you go ahead and spring for...

SiteBuildIt
SiteBuildIt is a very unique sort of web hosting service. Actually, it's a web hosting AND promotion package that I started using a few months ago. It guides you through the process of creating a profitable website. You'll get low-cost web hosting and free domain registration as part of the package. The downside is that the package costs $299. However, the services and features offered make it well-worth the expense. And you can try it out completely risk-free with their reliable money-back gaurantee.
