Q: Describe your style of music? What band(s) would you compare yourself with?
I mostly enjoy contemporary rock, pop, and various acoustic artists. Some of those artists include John Mayer, Bebo Norman, & Jack Johnson. I would probably compare myself to the last three artists mentioned.
Q: What are your main musical influences?
I am very influenced by the big chorus’ of Creed. Now, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing, but it has influenced me. Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve been heavily influenced by Bebo Norman and John Mayer. That is a good thing.
Q: What/Who have been your biggest influences in life and on your lyrics?
Whenever people ask me this question I always have the same answer. I tell them that the songs I write are a direct result of my faith, my relationships, and my experiences.
Q: What's in your CD player, IPod?
Right now I’ve got “Need to Breathe” in my car. It’s their new album labeled “The Heat.”
Q: What other local band would you pay to see play? Why?
I would pay lots of money to see the Confidence / 88 miles per hour play again. They are so energetic and I love their music. I’ve been known to pay money to see “Take the City” as well.
Q: How did you meet?
I was born with myself. I was fortunate.
Q: Is there an interesting story behind the name of your band? Who came up with the name?
No tricks here. I go by the name my parents gave to me. I have been referred to as “The Tylor Linus Band.”
Q. Tell us about your first show.
My first solo show I opened for the Famous Matt Moore at the Harvest Coffeehouse and Beanery of Bay City. I hadn’t played in front of a crowd in over a year, so my neck turned all red and blotchy. Can you guess who was nervous that night?
Q. What have been the high and low points of the band so far?
I really enjoy playing acoustic sets, but I really miss playing in a full band. I miss the possibilities. There is only so much I can do as a solo artist. That is why I often end up recording every different part for a song. I like my songs better being played by a full band.
Q: You are the first band to play a song on another planet for aliens that have never heard our music, you can play any song ever written, what would you play? Why?
I would play them “Blue-Eyed Sunshine,” because I just KNOW aliens are suckers for sappy love songs.
