Biography

Tension Head doesn't claim a specific genre, but they do cross the lines between both Hard Rock and Metal. TH is based out of Saginaw Michigan and has a combined music experience of 50 plus years.

TENSION HEAD is currently:

*Marketing their newest full-length release, Fire in the Hole
*Touring in and around Michigan
*Ranked #58 on MySpace’s Top Metal 100 Unsigned Artist
*Landed a spot on a compilation released on Respawn Records
*Hitt Music Group (HMG) of Los Angeles CA is promoting TH and their music around the world. HMG believes TENSION HEAD has what it takes to compete in the music industry.

In 2004/2005 Tension Head released their first self-titled EP which was completely sold-out and is now out of print. By this time, TH was sharing the stage with established national acts such as Puddle of Mud, Taproot, Drowning Pool,  Trapt, Anthrax, Thousand Foot Crutch,   NonPoint, Kittie, DamagePlan,  Earshot, Monster Magnet,   Psychostick, Corrosion of Conformity,  Sponge,    Bobaflex, Fireball Ministry, Vains if Venna, Mower,  Artimus PyleDriver, Dirty Americans, Silent Civilian and many others!

Tension Head's energetic live presence while on stage is the reason most cited for the national attention they are receiving. Off stage, the band’s social skills go to work, making sure that anyone and everyone in attendance knows that they really do appreciate the fan support. In winter of 2006/2007 Tension Head was invited to perform in Louisiana in select cities, including New Orleans. They enjoy traveling and working together. This band is ready to entertain!

Review Quotes

“Garnering enthusiasm and support for their intense and full-throttled approach to music, the sound of Tension Head is incisive, all-consuming, and impossible to ignore. Be prepared for the trip of your life” - Robert E. Martin – Review Magazine.

“Reunited ANTHRAX still gets the floor shaking. Detroit’s all-girl rockers, BROADZILLA, opened with a Lita Ford-meets-Joan Jett sound, but not before Saginaw rockers TENSION HEAD could steal the show!” – Nikki Poisson – The Flint Journal.

11 Questions

Q: Describe your style of music, what bands would you compare yourself with?

Many people think we sound like Clutch, but we don't think so at all. It's just what people do when they want to compare or explain to the next person what we sound like. If anything, we look at it as a compliment.

Q: What are your main musical influences?

Well, since I can only speak for myself, I'll give ya my top 3! UNCLE TED (that's Ted Nugent for all you young bucks out there), ZZ
TOP, and of course, AC/DC!

Q: WhatlWho have been your biggest influences in life and on your lyrics?

Same answer as the previous question, without a doubt!

Q: What's in your CD player?

 RAMMSTEIN

Q: What other local band would you pay to see play? Why?

The Kincaids and Chapstick. They both have sets that I can actually sit and or stand all the way through. They are my personal favorite bands from the state of Michigan.

Q: How did you meet?

4 years ago, I ran into Tony in a bar and asked him if he would like to join a band I was starting. He asked me what did I have in mind and I pulled out my little tape recorder and showed him the riff and the beat of "The Bear" (1 of 6 songs written before I started looking for musicians) that I beat boxed into the recorder. I think he joined forces with me on the spot. Next was Sean, he and I had jammed together for fun many times before, so I thought, he'd be perfect, I think I was right on the money. Last but not least was JoJo, I met him because he was working with Tony at Guitar Center at the time, came in for try outs, blew me away!

Q: Is there an interesting story behind the name of your band? Who came up with the name?

Alright, I'll get straight to the point. Tony is a big fan (I'm not, lol) of Queens of the Stone Age and one of his favorite songs by them is none other than "Tension Head"! Hey, if Godsmack can do it, so can we!

Q. Tell us about your first show together?

Crikets, nobody knew what just hit'em. It happens everywhere new we play.

Q. What have been the high and low points of the band so far?

High is getting a publishing deal, Low is having to go through the process of replacing muscians that waste my time. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

Q: You are the first band to play a song on another planet for aliens that have never heard our music, you can play any song ever written, what would you play? Why?

Well since we don't do covers (alright we used to do "You Wreck Me" by Tom Petty) and we don't have any songs that relate to Aliens, I guess there would'nt be a show at all! Oh Yeah!!!
