10 Questions Q: Describe your style of music? What band(s) would you compare yourself with? Our music is definitely club hip-hop. Our songs are all original; we do us and no one else. If we tried something we’re not we wouldn’t be T.M.A.
Q: What are your main musical influences? All types of music you name it, it has influenced us. Classical, rock, classic rock, country, pop, and rap. We respect everyone out there and all of us personally listen to different types of music, and different mixes so it blends together to make one voice.
Q: What/Who have been your biggest influences in life and on your lyrics? Our families and the closest ones around us. The people who give love everyday, and stand by you through thick and thin. If it wasn’t for them and our experiences we wouldn’t have our songs we have today.
Q: What's in your CD player, Ipod?
We have all mixes man. We keeping it true to what we all feel at that point in time.
Q: What other local band would you pay to see play? Why?
The Commission because they’re coming up in the local scene and we want them to have the best of success.
Q: How did you meet?
We met through different musical partners. T.M.A. was doing some business here and there and someone said we should check them out and give them a chance.
Q: Is there an interesting story behind the name of your band? Who came up with the name?
Me, The Tanman AKA Vegas C and Fatty A really sat down and figured out the T.M.A. It stands for Tanman Association. The “Tanman” for his name and the “A” for Fatty A.
Q. Tell us about your first show together.
Our first show was interesting. It was only me, Vegas & Fatty A, the other two members were hiatus doing their own thing, which is cool. It was cool though we got up their and did it.
Q. What have been the high and low points of the band so far?
High points have been all the success we have had in the short period of time. There hasn’t been a true low, there has been slow days. But everyday is a new day and you always have to keep pushin’.
Q: You are the first band to play a song on another planet for aliens that have never heard our music, you can play any song ever written, what would you play? Why? (haha) Definitely “Gotta Gotta” followed by “Club Anthem” because “Gotta Gotta” has a message near and dear to us and the hook is amazing. Club Anthem next because that’s the song that’s been playin’ in clubs local for some time now. And remember all music is copyrighted. |
